Themis is IRONSCALES’ AI-powered analysis engine. It automatically analyses every incident and assigns a confidence score — for example, “90% Phishing” or “70% Spam” — based on email similarity, sender behavior, community data, and historic classifications.
What Does Themis Do?
If the confidence score reaches or exceeds your auto-classification threshold, Themis will automatically classify the incident as Phishing or Spam — no human action needed. This saves time and speeds up incident response.
Themis will never auto-classify an incident as Safe. That decision is always reserved for a human.
Auto-Classification Thresholds
You can set the minimum confidence percentage required for Themis to auto-classify. The recommended defaults are:
| Classification | Recommended Threshold | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| Phishing | 80% | Emails quarantined automatically |
| Spam | 70% | Emails moved to Spam/Junk |
| VIP Impersonation | 80% | Emails quarantined automatically |
Auto-classified incidents appear in the Classified Incidents tab with an Auto-Classified tag. Themis’ algorithm is continuously learning and adapting, so its accuracy improves over time.
