In order to route your emails outbound through Proofpoint, this step is required to ensure that your messages are not rejected by recipient mail servers as potential spoofing.
If your SPF record only contains the default Outlook entry, then change your SPF record to the following depending on your region:
- US region: v=spf1 include:_spf-us.ppe-hosted.com include:_spf.google.com -all
- EU region: v=spf1 include:_spf-eu.ppe-hosted.com include:_spf.google.com -all
If your SPF record has additional entries for other services sending on your behalf, then just add include:_spf-us.ppe-hosted.com (for US customers) or include:_spf-eu.ppe-hosted.com (for EU customers) after the v=spf1 portion of your record.
The following record format is still supported but we recommend updating this record to the new version above.
- US region v=spf1 a:dispatch-us.ppe-hosted.com ~all
- EU region v=spf1 a:dispatch-eu.ppe-hosted.com ~all
